Milk Maids is Part Eleven of Twelve of The Sir Peter Blake portfolio box set "Replay".

The inspiration for this print is a painting from 1989-90. This period is important for the reassessment that took place for Peter's work.

In 1988 he accepted an invitation for an exhibition from the Nishimura Gallery in Tokyo that was titled 'Deja vu', giving him a chance to replay themes from his classic Pop Paintings.

This was followed in 1991 with Marco Livingstone's Pop Art exhibition held at the Royal Academy. The celebrated high Pop Art period of the 1960's had come full circle and critically the influence that Peter's work had played along with his influence on younger artists was recognised.
